One of the Worst Hail-Hit Roofs We’ve Seen — Before & After Photos Tell the Story

This one was hammered by hail.
When we arrived at this DeLand, FL home, it didn’t take long to realize we were looking at one of the worst hail-damaged roofs we’ve seen. The shingles weren’t just worn — they were bruised, fractured, and stripped of granules across nearly every slope.

Hail impacts had left soft spots throughout the roof. Granules were collecting in gutters and on the ground. Shingle mats were compromised, and many areas were already on a fast track toward leaks. This is the kind of damage that doesn’t always show up immediately inside the home — but once it does, it’s usually too late.
The homeowner did the right thing and called Integrity Roof Services for a full inspection before water intrusion started.
What We Found During the Inspection
As we documented the roof, the hail damage became impossible to ignore.
Impact marks were spread across the entire surface, not isolated to one area. Shingles showed clear bruising from hailstones, and several slopes had lost so much granule coverage that the asphalt mat underneath was exposed.
This wasn’t a repair situation.
This roof was done.
We walked the homeowner through the photos, explained how hail damage continues to break shingles down over time, and showed why replacement was the only safe long-term solution.
Rebuilding the Roof the Right Way

Because the hail damage extended beyond the shingles, this project also included new gutters and new soffit installation.
The old gutter system had taken a beating from hail and was no longer draining properly. The soffit showed damage along the roofline, which can lead to ventilation and moisture issues if ignored.
By replacing the roof, gutters, and soffit together, we were able to:
- Restore proper water flow away from the home
- Improve ventilation performance
- Clean up the entire roofline
